This Friday, June 7 at 23:30 GMT, PayPal Park will host the match for Round 11 of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the top-tier women’s league in the United States, where Bay FC will face Portland Thorns FC. Both teams arrive looking to pick up key points to climb the standings.
Bay FC look to climb from the bottom and get closer to playoff contention
The hosts are currently in 11th place with 12 points, the result of 3 wins, 3 draws, and 4 losses in 10 matches. In their last five games, they have recorded 1 win, 2 draws, and 2 losses, showing a mixed run of results.
Offensively, they have scored 12 goals and conceded 14, resulting in a goal difference of -2. At home, they have scored in their last three matches, with a record of 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss. With 16 rounds still to be played, Bay have room to move up the table and enter playoff contention, making a win here crucial.
Portland Thorns FC aim to extend their unbeaten run and solidify a Top 5 spot
The visitors are in 5th place with 16 points, earned from 4 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses in 10 matches. They remain unbeaten in their last five games, recording 3 wins and 2 draws. They have scored 16 goals and conceded 11, with a positive goal difference of +5.
Under head coach Rob Gale, the squad is working to maintain its position in the playoff zone. A win in this fixture would help keep distance from their closest competitors and strengthen their place in the top positions.
Best odds and the prediction
There are no recent head-to-head matchups; the last meeting was in August 2024, ending in a 3–1 win for Bay. However, that result offers limited insight, as many factors may have changed over the past year. Bookmakers currently offer odds of @2.91 for a Bay win, @2.10 for a Portland victory, and @3.35 for a draw. Another market with potential value is over 2.75 goals, offered at @2.03.
Considering their recent form, our suggestion is to back the visitors to win. And now that you have our prediction, it’s your turn to open an account at BetSpider.
