About Live Baccarat
Baccarat may not be as popular as poker or blackjack, but it is one of the big four games of all casinos, either traditional or online. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that it is the only card game that is played strictly on a one-to-one basis, no matter the variation. Both players get 2 cards each and that’s it. They win or lose based on the sum of these two cards. It’s the ideal game for those that want something that is quick, without too many rules or strategies involved. Hence, they look for live baccarat, at all of the top online casinos that are available through the services of BetSpider.
Live Baccarat: Origins
The French nobility and private gaming rooms have been enjoying the game since the 19th century and the Napoleonic eras. The most widespread modern version is Punto Banco, and it comes from Havana in the 1940s. However, the exact origins are a subject of dispute. Regardless of how it came this far, at this time it is the most important table game in the casinos of Macau resulting in the largest single source of tax revenue.
Similarly to all other casino games, when you find it at a traditional brick-and-mortar establishment it’s known simply as baccarat. When you find it through the internet in a purely digital form, then it becomes online baccarat basing the entire premise to a random number generator. However, in keeping up with the recent trends, when there’s a live dealer on the other side of the connection, then it’s Live Baccarat or Live Dealer Baccarat.
How to play Live Baccarat
First of all, you need to sign up for a Betspider account. When you reach the option, you will need to choose one of the exchanges that the list includes and allows punters to play casinos. Good options would be Fair999 or Orbit Exchange. Then, just follow a few simple rules.
Basically, you have two players: the banker and the player. And it is always like that regardless of how many people sit on the table. After one hand has been played with one pair of participants, then new cards are dealt for the next pair. Any hand always begins with the dealing of 2 cards after all bets are placed and there can be only three results: win for the banker, win for the player and a tie. The payout for the first two is 1:1. Since it’s considered as a rare result, the tie pays 8:1.
Understandably, any and all wagers attempt to guess which of the aforementioned three results will come to pass. The determination is based on the total of the cards based on their value. The maximum is 9 and it comes out of the following:
Aces count as 1 point.
Cards 2 to 9 are taken on face value.
10s, kings, queens, and jacks do not count.
If the total of the 2 cards exceeds 10, then it is deducted until there is only a single digit sum left. For example, if you have a 4 and a 7, their total is 11. Minus 10 makes their actual value 1. Similarly two 9s come up to 8 as final count. The one with the highest final count wins.
Naturals and a 3rd card
When the initial hand sums up to 8 or 9, it’s called a «natural» and no additional card is necessary. However, if the total in the player’s hand is 5 or less, then they get a third card. The banker has some restrictions and gets it when:
His total is between 0 and 3 regardless of the value of the player’s 3rd card.
His total is 4 and the player’s third card is between 2 and 7.
His total is 5 and the player got anything between 4 and 7.
His total is 6 and his opponent received either a 6 or a 7.
His score is between 0 and 5 and the player’s total score is either 6 or 7.
Funding a live baccarat account
To participate in the fun, you need to put some money into your gambling account. Apart from all the other methods that you may be familiar with, we can even give you the chance to play Baccarat with cryptocurrencies.
At the end of the day, it’s all about simplicity and speed. A word to the wise though. A tie may be paid at 8 to 1, however, the chances of it happening are quite low. So, we would suggest picking a side and sticking to it until the end of the hand.
